Above is a link to an online book that Phil recommended in another forum. I thought it might get lost in all the various responses so her 'tis. It's a free (but a donation is suggested) download from an online library. The original book was written in 1946 and is now out of print. I've just started reading it but it's a fascinating and well written essay (192 pages) on the practices and philosophy of one very down to earth and "simple is best" beekeeper.
