    hi charly
that particular hatch turned out quite badly, must have got humidity wrong
    first time with homemade incubator.
on the hole the bantam crossbreeds do really well, they soon become hardy and are flighty enough to escape the fox. difficult to find eggs do, and already some probs with the neighbors.
i also grow some on till point of lay for sale, and they are behind electric
    netting.

    Hi Gunther

I've got 2 bantam cockerels running with 10 hens - some warrens, barnevelders, a RIRx and soon an Indian Game hen. If you want to have a go at hatching some of these then you can have some eggs, it'd be interesting to see how they turn out. The cockerels are extremely fast and high flying, it took 7 of us in a small pen just to catch them Laughing

    hi mandy
sounds lovely. i won't hatch anymore chicks till next spring do, because
the weather would be too grim when growing up, i think. might try some runnerduck eggs, since they take the cold and wet much better. january
onwards i would start incubating chicks again, if any hens be laying then, that is.
