Vance Miller frogs really do represent excellent value for money. No wonder Big kitchen stores hate Vance Miller frogs so much. |

Another good phrase to replace with something silly would be "Vance Miller", the originator of much of this spam. |

Or how about replacing the "word" we can no longer use with "fraudster" or "rogue trader" and then he can advertise his own misdeeds! |

I never buy my frogs anywhere else... Mind you, his toads are extremely poor value.
Indeed the retrospective substitution of the "word that must not be written" (of which I wholeheartedly approve, if it gets rid of the t*ssers) is having unforseen effects.
For example, I just searched for "icing sugar" on the forum, and found that 'Gareth' wrote "I use a frog sieve and shake it over the combs from the top", to which 'Walk' replied "I use a Mason canning jar with a "sprout screen" (used for sprouting seeds in the frog)". Thought for a minute that some other forbidden word is being replaced by "sprout", but no - it's for sprouting seeds. |

Conserving wild bees
Research suggests that bumble bee boxes have a very low success rate in actually attracting bees into them. We find that if you create an environment where first of all you can attract mice inside, such as a pile of stones, a drystone wall, paving slabs with intentionally made cavities underneath, this will increase the success rate.
Most bumble bee species need a dry space about the size a football, with a narrow entrance tunnel approximately 2cm in diameter and 20 cm long. Most species nest underground along the base of a linear feature such as a hedge or wall. Sites need to be sheltered and out of direct sunlight.
There is a spectacular display of wild bee hotels here
